According to Yichang Development & Reform Commission, the state special funds of 80 million yuan were allocated to support Yichang as a pilot city in its construction of new materials and people-benefiting informationization, among which 50 million yuan is to be used in strategic agglomeration development in emerging industries, and 30 million yuan in national-level construction of people-beneficiary information.

The National Development & Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance affirmed that the new materials industry in Yichang has made remarkable achievements that can be copied and promoted. Yichang has also achieved significant results in its construction of the national-level pilot city in people-benefiting informationization, and has become one of the 10 cities that received the financial support from the central government. The state will intensify its support based on the assessment of its existing achievements.

Yichang will make good use of this policy, focusing on graphite materials, magnetic electronic materials, chemical materials, advanced silicate materials, and innovation ability construction as well. It will vigorously promote the development of new materials industry, and build itself into a “large and strong, excellent and beautiful” city of wisdom and happiness. (Reporter: Zheng Guanghua)
