According to the Municipal Transportation Management Bureau, the No. 216 Bus in Yichang has already been put into use on August 26, following the intercity buses starting from Yichang to Xingshan, Yidu and Changyang respectively. Passengers can take the No. 216 bus in Junyao Plaza, Yichang’s downtown area, and arrive at the tourist transfer center of the Three Gorges Dam after about one and a half hour’s ride. With the No. 216 intercity bus, people in Sandouping Town, Taipingxi Town and Letianxi Town of Yiling District can have easy access to Yichang’s downtown.

According to Wang Zongbao, the General Manager of Gezhouba Pengcheng Transportation Co., Ltd., the route of the No. 216 intercity bus is extended upon the original one, which now is: Junyao Plaza ←→ Night Pearl ←→ Tourist Transfer Center of the Three Gorges Dam ←→ Fengxianggou. The whole 50 km route takes one and a half hour. The bus starts from Junyao Plaza at 6:40am, and ends at 7pm. It runs every 20 minutes.

The bus fare is now 10 yuan per one person. Compared with the previous 15 yuan, the fare has dropped by 33%. The No. 216 intercity bus is accommodated with 49 seats. The number of buses put into use in the first period is 20. (Reporter: Yan Xiaodong; correspondent: Liu Xuancao)
