Yichang is selected to the 14th China City Competitiveness Rankings and won “2015 China’s Top Ten Food Safety City” from the Municipal Food and Medicine Supervising Administration and the staff there will go to Hong Kong to accept the award and learn from it on Dec. 9.
The 14th China City Competitiveness Rankings is independently assessed by China Research Institute of City Competitiveness. It is composed of more than 100 experts and scholars from the cross-straits four regions who specialize in China City Competitiveness.
The assessment of 2015 is mainly based on the “GN China Food Safety Evaluation Standards System”, which includes 5 first-level indicators, 15 secondary-level indicators and 49 third-level indicators, covering food safety in quality, laws and regulations on food, food safety supervision and management, food safety technology and financial support, food safety information, education, communication and training, etc. According to the assessment, Yichang moves it up two places to the 5th place compared with the previous year.
