The trial run of Dongshan Avenue BRT has been 1 month and more than 5 million passengers have been transferred, the average daily passenger flow is 220,000. During the month, the general public has gradually adapted to the operating rules, enabling the smoothness of downtown traffic. August 14th, member of Municipal Standing Committee, vice mayor Mao Chuanqiang chaired the special thematic session on Dongshan Avenue BRT.

Since the trial run, 330 buses have been put into use,, the average peak time interval has optimized from the previous 5-15 minutes to 3-10 minutes. BRT operation time is from 5:30 am to 22:30 pm, the peak time intervals between 2 to 3 minutes, 3 to 5 minutes per shift in the non-peak time, 10 to 12 minutes after 21:00. Since August 2nd, No. B 9 has reached 20 km/h. By August 8th, 11,718 shifts have set out, 56,692.5 times in total, 5,540,000 passengers have been transferred, and the average number of passengers is 220,000. Next, the fire equipment and security forces will also be equipped as the request for the BRT platform.

Traffic police department has deployed 8,572 polices to escort the BRT, persuaded and correct 10,500 minor breaches along BRT, for motor vehicle occupying the BRT lanes, illegal parking, walking randomly or without looking at the traffic lights and crossing parapet, the department will continue to carry out special rectification; the motorcycles and non motor vehicles which occupied the BRT lanes have been punished for 1750 times, 356 people were punished for violation of the signs marking on the passage , 674 people for illegal parking, more than 6200 pedestrians were persuaded for their uncivilized behavior, 5 people were administratively arrested for their illegal occupation of BRT lanes and impeding law enforcement, all these actions ensured the BRT run without large area congestion and complaints, no major accidents, the city traffic safety unblocked.

As to 6 major categories of 54 items which the public reflected,such as civil work, platforms, traffic engineering ,etc, the BRT headquarters clarified responsible units, responsible persons and the completion deadline;most of which have been completed, and the remaining issues are further advancing. At present, the Ye Mingzhu part has been set into the pre-construction phase, BRT Yiling district has completed 80%of the total amount; the construction of Yiling passenger station, dispatch center and park stop is running orderly.
