The average price of new real estate nationwide 100 cities last month was 10,800 yuan per square meter, up 0.95 percent, 0.41percent more than July, according to the Report on Price Index of 100 Cities on August 2015 released by China Index Academy on September 1st. The data compared with the same period last year stopped falling on August after a ten-month consecutive falling. The average price of new homes in Yichang was 5485 yuan per square meter, up 1.52 percent from prior month, ranking 7th among the 100 cities.
51 cities’ prices had an increase while 49 cities’ prices had a decrease from prior month. Compared with July, the number of price-rising cities on August increased 5, of which 14 cities had 1 percent increment, up 1 form July. The number of price-lowering cities on August decreased 4, of which 7 cities had 1 percent drop, down 10 from July. 10 top-bottom increment cities were Shanghai, Zhanjiang, Beijing, Nanjing, Zhangjiagang, Xiamen, Yichang, Xinxiang, Langfang, and Shijiazhuang, of which Shanghai had 3.77 percent increment, ranking the top. These 10 cities’ average price of second-hand houses in the downtown area was 28294 yuan per square meter, up 0.99 percent form prior month and 7.15 percent compared with last year.
