The Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission and Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Hubei Province jointly issued the second batch of low-income housing projects and infrastructure construction in the central budget investment plan in 2015. 120 low-income housing projects in Yichang obtained the central investment totaling RMB 628,261,000 Yuan ($ 98574150.9). Including the first batch of central investment projects, there were 232 low-income housing projects with central investment totaling RMB 1,057,160,000 Yuan ($ 165868404) in 2015 in Yichang, which accounted for 21.8% of Hubei province\'s capital. 116,707 residents in Yichang will benefit from the two batches of central government investment projects.
The Yichang Municipal Development and Reform Commission seized the state opportunity of increasing investment in people’s livelihood as well as strongly supporting in urban low-income housing projects. It also actively integrated the policy with the construction of mega-city, new area development and new-type urbanization development of Yichang. Besides, it made great efforts to declare these items, such as state owned industrial and mining areas, state owned reclamation area, state owned forest area, rebuilding shanty areas, public rental housing and its supporting infrastructure projects. With the acceleration of the construction of central investment projects, the construction of low-income housing projects of Yichang has fully sped up. From January to August this year, 31733 sets of low-income housing started to be constructed, which accounted for 63.8% of the plan for this year. 28177 sets of low-income housing have been basically completed, which accounted for 93.9% of the plan for this year. 8486 sets of low-income housing have been allocated for occupancy, which accounted for 42.4% of the plan for this year.
