According to Yichang Xinhua News Agency on October 7th, reservoir level of the Three Gorges Project has overpassed 170m at 8 am and another 175m experimental water storage is entering into its Five Meters Countdown. As planned, the Three Gorges Project will store 175 meters level water by the end of October or in early November.

    A related official from the Three Gorges Hydro Project Cascade Dispatching Communication Center introduced that, the inflow of the upper reaches of Yangtze River this year was less than that of the same period of former years, but it was still in control. The Three Gorges reservoir has stored water to 165m by September 30th as arranged. After entering October, the Three Gorges Project adjusts discharged flow in time according to electric power load. The Three Gorges reservoir will store water with a daily rise of 0.5m.

    On July 8th, the real-time hygrometry displayed that the inflow of the Three Gorges reservoir was 18, 600 m3/s and the outflow was 12, 800 m3/s. Reservoir water level broke 170m to 170.23m entering into Five Meters Countdown of impoundment. (Reporter: Wang Zichen)
