From September, 25th, the comprehensive reconstruction of the road from Gezhouba roundabout to Yemingzhu station has been formally implemented. The first reconstruction line is from Yizi Road to Gezhouba roundabout which is about 2.35km. In the midst of this section, the construction of overhead road from Gezhouba roundabout station to Sanxia hospital station will be conducted. The overhead road is going to be about 1.8km and two-lane social road. The ground road will be for two-way six lanes, including the BRT line’s number two lane. Reporters got this news from the meeting held by Yichang Dongshan Avenue Reconstruction & BRT Project Construction Headquarter on September 18th.
The comprehensive reconstruction of Yemingzhu road is a systematic project which integrates the BRT construction and the road landscape. The reconstruction of the road involves road, bridge, underground pipe network, landscaping, traffic relief, lighting and security monitoring and slope protection etc. Along the BRT lane, it is going to place 5 stations, which are Pinghu Peninsula Station, Yemingzhu Station, the Yellow River Road Station, Wangzhougang Station, Zhenjingshan Station. The road is asphalt concrete pavement, where the platform section BRT lane is with black reinforced cement concrete pavement. It is estimated that the reconstruction project will be completed in June next year. At that time, the traffic condition will be greatly improved, the road landscape and the residents \' living environment will be different from before. 
The BRT Project Construction Headquarter indicated that Yemingzhu road reconstruction is a part of the whole BRT project. The road is with narrow pavement, complex pipe lines, and heavy traffic flow and traffic congestion. Therefore the comprehensive road reconstruction will take segmented and totally-closed construction manner. It may cause some inconvenience to residents’ life and bus lines as well as the way of passing vehicle traffic will also be adjusted. The construction department promised to make reasonable construction arrangements, to conduct work properly and to minimize the impact on residents living along the road. It hopes to gain the support and understanding of the public so as to build Yemingzhu road into a fully-functional and beautiful one.
In order to assist the BRT road construction, the segmented and totally-closed construction manner will be taken. During the close of the road, traffic control will be undergone, motor vehicles will be prohibited. Within the scope of the road reconstruction, residents and passing vehicles need to choose other roads. (Reporter, Xiao Min; Correspondent, Deng Tao)
