On September 25th, Mrs. Gao who lives in Shennongjia bought a 123-square-meter apartment in Xinghuwan residential quarters in the Yiling District. She obtained her purchase contract after making 100,000 Yuan down payment. “There are green mountains, clean water and beautiful buildings in Yiling, and that’s why all of our family members chose here to live.” Mrs. Gao looked quite happy. She told the reporter that after her son got a job in Yichang, she looked for many apartments and found that the Yiling District is most suitable for living.
Same as Mrs. Gao, on that day more than 30 non-local people such as Mr. Zhang from Qianjiang and Mrs. Liu from Badong bought apartments in Yiling. 
Why do these non-local people from afar choose to settle down in Yiling?
“Because of Yiling’s irresistible charm”, said Liu Hongfu, who is a Secretary in the Yiling District. In his opinion, Yiling enjoys the favorable geographic location. It is not close to the downtown, close to both Gezhou Dam and Three Gorges Dam, next to river and harbor. In addition, there are green mountains, clean water and beautiful buildings here. The housing price is not very high. So it is understandable that people choose to live here.”
