According to the Yichang Investigation Team from National Bureau of Statistics, CPI of urban area saw 1.7% year on year growth respectively and 0.1% ring growth in September, and that margin down 0.3% year-on-year and 0.1% month-on-month compared to August. The rise of food price was the major factor in promoting the rise of total index.
Owing to mild climate in September and sufficient supply of vegetables, except for some special nonlocal vegetables, price for most vegetables kept stable basically, down 0.2% compared to this August. While price for potato dropped 14.6% compared to this August.
Pork price has been rising for consecutive five months, and in September, it rose slightly for 2.7% compared to the previous month. Price for meat byproducts rose 4% on month-on-month basis and price for ham rose from the lowest 18.5 yuan/kg in April to the highest 33 yuan/kg in September.
As fruits like grapes and bananas are in season, price for dry and fresh fruits dropped continuously, fresh fruits price fell 2.6% in September compared to last month.
Price for family service rose 3.6% in September compared to this August, which was mainly pulled by the payment for nursing workers, rising from 2,400 to 3,000 yuan per month.
Due to the increase of tourists visiting Yichang during Mid-autumn Festival and National Day, compared to last month, expense for hotels and other kinds respectively rose 6.8% and 2.2%, and airfare also rose 8.8%. (Reporter Pei Shujing, correspondent Zou Jiao)
