According to the 5th Economic and Trade Fair of Citrus Festival in Yichang (Yiling), China, merchant representatives from Russia, Thailand, and the domestic signed a 395,000-ton sales agreement with Yiling citrus enterprises, among which 65,000 tons with Russia and Thailand, with total money of 711 million yuan. Jia Li, Deputy Secretary of Yiling District Party Committee, hosted the fair; Jiang Jinsheng, a researcher in Hubei Provincial Department of Agriculture, and Wang Pingchang, Deputy Secretary of Yiling District Party Committee and Commissioned District Mayor attended.

At the fair, Shanghai Agricultural Products Wholesale Market decided to use “Xiaoxihong Orange Production Base” as its direct supply base. The Yiling District Government signed a cooperation agreement with Taiwan Fuhe Food Company. In order to promote the production and marketing fellowship and activate the market, the Yiling government, with over 1 million yuan of special funds, gave priority reward to 5 foreign commercials including the 2014 Beijing’s new wholesale market of agricultural products and 6 citrus planting and processing enterprises like Xiaoxihong citrus specialized cooperatives and Xingxiang product association.

The fair presented two new highlights, one is, foreign merchants increased significantly and the citrus exports from the district increased year by year; the other is the two’s cooperation has developed from a mere citrus sales to citrus deep processing which has deepened the cooperation between the Yiling District and the merchant guests.
