Yichang will build 80 public bicycle service spots in two stages respectively aiming at promoting the sustainable transportation and encouraging low-carbon life and green travel. In the future, citizens can borrow bikes from the nearest BRT bus station and ride to the next station.

First 4 demonstration spots under debugging
The facilities of the public bicycle service system have been equipped in place yesterday at the service spots at the front of Yichang Shopping Mall at Dongshan Avenue. There are 10 locked red bikes in a row by the lock studs with a query device standing beside.
Liu Xianwei, the traffic engineer of Yichang public transport service system, introduced that the first 4 demonstration service spots are being installed and under debugging. It is estimated that they will be put into use after the issue of the rules of management and operation. These 4 spots are located in the front of Yichang Shopping Mall at Dongshan Avenue, Yiling Square bus station, Children\'s Park bus station at Xiling Rd1 and the gate of Children\'s Park at Yunji Road, which constitute a “回”shape network.

The public bicycle system not only provides a much more convenient way to green travel for the citizens but also plays the role of an important affiliated project of the top standard BRT system. Currently, more than 150 cities have implemented the public bicycle system. Yichnag will construct 80 public bicycle service spots in two stages respectively. The first stage construction starts from the area circled by Shengli No.4 Rd, Xiling No.2 Rd, Dongshan Avenue and the Yanjiang Avenue, about 27 service spots in total, which will be finished the installation and debugging before the end of 2015. In the second stage, the other 53 service spots will be built gradually. Li Shanshan, the deputy director of Transportation and Development Policy Research Institute of China, introduced that service spots are often built nearby the bus stations, large public buildings like schools, libraries, hospitals and residential areas in consideration of the convenience.
