According to Edunburgh Elevator Company in Yichang, 21 escalators designed for BRT project have started the installation at night these days and are expected to be completely operational in mid-November.

In order to alleviate the traffic pressure in the rush hour, the government successively started the installation of escalators in BRT platforms including No.22 Middle School station, Beishangpo Station, Guoyuan Second Road Station, Gangwuxincun Station, Xiling First Road Station, Yiling Coach Station and so on. The whole project has put into use twenty-one public service escalators and three passenger elevators which are manufactured by Edunburgh Elevator Company in Yichang. They are expected to be completely operational in mid-November. ”After a month’s production, these twenty-four elevators are already in installation. The whole lifting work is launched at night between 0 o’clock to the next 5 o’clock,” said Zhao Lin, the regional sales manager.
