On October 23, a working supervision meeting focusing on the city business was held in our city, and Zhou Zhengying, the deputy mayor, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

　　The city’s business economy has remained stable with improved quality in the first three quarters of this year. From January to September, the city’s import and export trade and retailing sales of social consumer goods had registered a year-on-year rise of twenty percent and twelve percent respectively. From January to September this year, the city’s total import and export trade amounted to ＄2.21 billion, realizing a year-on-year increase of 20.4 percent and accounting for 7.4 percent of the provincial total import-export trade volume. In domestic trade, from January to September, the city total retailing sales of the social consumer goods reached 78.55 billion RMB, ranking at the top among other cities in the province and realizing a year-on-year increase of 12.2 percent. Seen from the retailing sales, the top three categories of goods included automobiles, cereal and oil foods, petroleum and petroleum products.

　　Zhou Zhengying pointed out that thanks to the joint efforts of the whole city; the business economy has achieved remarkable results. But under the economic downward pressure, the task was arduous yet the time limited, especially under the circumstance of imbalanced economic development in different areas of the city. In the fourth quarter, all areas should actively foster consumption hotspots, grow up main market players, optimize development environment and cluster development potential.
