On October 24, 2015, the Sixth Cycling Invitational around Balizhou of Chinese Yangtze River started in Bailizhou of Zhijiang City. 628 athletes home and abroad and the local people took part in the men’s elite group, race man ordinary group, women’s group, public health groups as well as farmers group.

　　It was understood that at the end of the Chinese Sports Culture and Sports Tourism Expo on the 13th, the cycling race around Bailizhou won the title of Chinese Sports Tourism Boutique with the unique charm of cycling track along the river embankment with 74 kilometers. Tournament was promoted to the “national” level and developed from a single cycling race to an integrated event that had combined beach camping, marathon with sports performances.

　　As the largest central bar on the Yangtze River, Bailizhou town regarded the cycling race around the city as the leading ship, set goals by centering on leisure and fitness potential, combined the creation of the green demonstration countryside with the adjustment of agricultural structure, blazing a new trail to the development of leisure tourism. On the track along the Yangtze River, riders could overlook and visit 500 acres of golden beach of Kuixing, Feng kou mouth bund of automobiles and motorcycles, artificial river and wetland park, Lu Fa (a strategist in eastern Jin dynasty) and his pulpit, the tomb of King Huai in Chu as well as ruins of the Danyang ancient town. This town would set the construction highway as the basic project to develop its leisure and fitness industry. In 2015, it invested 10.26 million yuan to harden 45.6 kilometers of village roads, making the hardening rate reach 55 percent, not to mention the 100% of cement roads put in place at administrative villages. The town constructed 385km of channel landscaping, newly built 41000 square meters of public green land and set up the Yangtze River ecological barrier, hence forming artificial rivers and the main canal landscaping belts. According to the demand of “one scene for one village and one rhyme for one village”, it has formed the three-dimensional combination of water, fields, roads, points, lines, network, surfaces as well as the pattern of simultaneously developing ecology, economy and landscaping.

　　Zhu Huaming, party secretary of Bailizhou town, introduced that Zhijiang city and Bailizhou town had upgraded 74km of levee pavement surrounding the sandbar, and set up 43 ambulance service sites in total, 126 farmhouses and supermarkets as well as 41 security focal points.
