Illegal Casino Hidesin Animation Park

An animation park was actually the cover for gambling activities. On Nov. 3, Changyang County police raided the animation park, confiscating 17 gambling machines including fishing machine,3D animals and great white shark console. The owner of the Park, surnamed Deng suspected of committing gambling crime has been detained according to law.

Some time ago, Changyang County police got the message: some animation park in Longzhouping Town was suspected of involving in gambling activities. The police made an investigation in disguise and quickly ascertained that under the cover of the animation park, it was an underground casino, complete in kinds of gambling machines, with large floor space and the large number of participants. And in front of it was installed with a surveillance camera. Sizing up the situation, the police waited for a chance to spring a crackdown.

At 10 a.m. on Nov. 3, under the guidance of the Yichang Municipal Public Security Detachment, Changyang County police worked in partnership with the Social Security Brigade, Longzhouping Police Station, and the Special Service Brigade, together with law enforcement officials of Changyang Bureau of Culture and Sports, threw blitz on the animation park located on the third floor of some square, Longzhouping City, only to find that there were various kinds of gambling machines equipped in the huge hall. Experts’ on-site identification proved that there were 6 types of gambling machines, including fishing machine,3D animals and great white shark console. The police confiscated 17 gambling machines and took out a summons against Deng.

The suspect confessed that the park was jointly financed and run by two Jingzhou persons, surnamed Zhang and Deng respectively. They registered and filed in the Cultural, Industrial and Commercial Department to be engaged in the business activities of animation and game machines. At the initial stage, the game machines were not for gambling, but for more customers and more importantly--- profits, Zhang and Deng stealthily switched the varieties and types of game machines. In fact, they were engaged in gambling with video game machines under the guise of a recreation hall.

Police said that the efforts would be intensified to crack down on casinos. The Zero-tolerance policy is to be imposed upon those underground casinos found out from public tip-offs or work and entertainment venues characteristic of gambling.
