It has been over a month since the new tax policy regarding the purchase of vehicles has been implemented. From October 1, purchase tax for the vehicles under 1.6 litre emissions has been cut half. According to the data from the Yichang Municipal Taxation Bureau, 15.96 million yuan has been saved for 3,898 vehicles with low emissions. The maximum of tax reduction is 13,350 yuan.

The new policy formulated by the State Council was formulated on September 29. The effective dates are from October 1, 2015 to December 31, 2016. The relevant official in the Yichang Taxation Bureau comments that the new policy has promoted the consumption of low-emission vehicles and contributed to environmental protection as well.

In order to carry out the new policy effectively, the Municipal Taxation Bureau publicized the policy through various channels such as government websites, QQ groups, WeChat groups and posters.
