Waterfront Beach at Yangtze Riverbank to Complete

There will be waterfront beach in Riverbank Park. It is informed from municipal water resource department on 16th November that the waterfront beach of 8000 m2 was under construction at the riverbank near Zhenjiang Pavilion, and the reconstruction and expansion project of riverbank pavement and pavement at the foot of slope launched simultaneously.

On the afternoon of November 16th, journalist came to the construct site. Workers were using concrete to widen the pavement on the riverbank, and sand piled on the embankment in bulk. “The project is on the left bank of Yangtze River in the urban area (from Zhenjiang Pavilion to Baisha section), with the investment about 1.43 million yuan.” Wan Weiping, the person in charge of municipal watercourse and embankment management said, the project mainly maintained the sporadic scraps in 10.56km-long urban riverbank protection project. The project which is planned to finish on 31st December will build 1km-long riverbank cobble pavement, stone slab pavement at the foot of slope, 8000 m2 waterfront beach and 880 m2ecological revetments (the picture on the left is the illustration).

The waterfront beach is at Zhenjiang Pavilion section. “After the completion of waterfront beach, it will not only prevent the riverbank from erosion, but also satisfy the citizen’s daily leisure”, says Yang Shaobo, the person in charge of the project.
