On November 27, the opening ceremony of the first super cross-country running race with a course of over 100miles in China was held at the scenic spot of the Tribe of the Three Gorges in the ancient Shipai Town in the Three Gorges Household Tourist Site. More than 300 people took part in this race, including the runners from Hong Kong and other places. Wang Yinghua the vice mayor of Yichang announced the start of the game.

　　The first super cross-country running race of China Three Gorges (Yichang) is the first domestic long-distance race with the range over 100 miles. With the entire journey of 168.5km, the race has been recorded on the list of ITRA and it will become the integral match of UTMB, the most famous international cross-country running race. Meanwhile, the participants of this super cross-country race of China Three Gorges (Yichang) can directly get the qualification for HK100 (Hong Kong 100km cross-country race), which is the initial race of the World Cross-country League Match.

　　With 16 supply stops throughout the journey, the race started from the scenic spot of the Tribe of the Three Gorges in the ancient Shipai Town and ran through 3 scenic attractions with 5A level and 6 scenic spots with 4A level, via the mountainous regions in the southern bank of the Yangtze River, the Yiling District, the Zigui County and the Xiling District with 16 supply stops were set throughout the journey.The accumulated climbing height of the whole cross-country race was 8,316 meters. More than 300 people participated in the race and they came from 21 different provinces of China. In addition, about 110 of them participated in the full-journey cross-country race of 168.5km and the other 200 people will join in the half-journey cross-country race of 83.6km and other competition races.

　　Before the beginning of the game, Li Jing, a runner from Hong Kong, said that he was looking forward to enjoy the happiness of running in the beautiful Three Gorges. Wang Xianshun, a 57 years old man coming from Zigui County, who was an soldier once upon a time, said that he wanted to show the graceful bearing of the veteran through the full-journey cross-country race.

　　In the afternoon, the individual half-journey cross-country race of 83.6km concluded with 190 people who finished the race at Zhuhai scenic spot in Zigui County. In the evening of November 28, the runners participated in the individual full-journey cross-country race of 168.5km arrived at the destination---Peace Park in Yichang urban area.
