On Nov 29, Xiong Jiajun was feeding his 100 Shuanglian chicken in the chicken coop on a drizzling day. He is a farmer living in the Manshanhong Village of Dangyang City.

　　Two months ago, the government of the Wangdian Town donated these chickens to Xiong. Having received training for half a day, Xiong mastered the skills of feeding the chicken, and the rate of survival is 100%. Now, Xiong and other poor families like his, have already raised 100 Shuanglian chicken, which is certificated as the national-level brand as well as the superior specimen in Dangyang. In order to strengthen the development of local agriculture and help the poor, the Wangdian town government offered supportive project, industry and favorable policies to each farmer directly, helping them to get rid of poverty from the start.

　　The town has gathered the funds provided by the “Sanwan” work group, migrants program and targeted poverty alleviation team, and given major support to those entrepreneurship and innovation projects. One of its cooperative partners is Minfeng Agricultural Technology Limited Company, who bought 15,000 chickens for 275 poor families and guided them to feed them. Then the company will buy these chickens from these families at a price higher than the market price.

　　The secretary of the party committee in the Wangdian Town said that after each farmer gets 100 chickens for free, they can not only earn 5,000 yuan, but also master the breeding skills. At the same time the industry of Shuanglian chicken will be quickly developed. That is indeed multiple wins. “Give a mana fish and you feed him for a day teach a  man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. In this way more and more farmers will feed Shuanglian chicken”, Tang Xizhi,the secretary of the party committee in the Manshanhong Village, said.
