The Beauty of Yichang Reaches South Korea

  A delegation led by Zhou Zhengying, the deputy mayor of Yichang, flew to Busan, South Korea on November, 22 to recommend and introduce Yichang’s tourism. The tourism brand of “Love in Yichang” sought great popularity during the five-day campaign.  In the tourism promotion conference, Lin Jingzhu, the general secretary of South Korea Tourism said “Three Gorges is such a fascinating tourist destination that will be fully supported by the tourism industry in South Korea. The Three Gorges will be introduced to more Koreans and consequently, more Koreans are most likely to choose it for travelling and fall in love with Yichang.”

  During the five days, Zhou and her delegation experienced four meetings held by the government and enterprises, which are Busan Air Symposium, Korea Tourism Association Symposium, Busan National Tourism Organization Symposium and the Mode Tourism Group Symposium. Meanwhile, nearly 300 enterprises and media attended their two large-scale tourism promotion conferences held in Seoul and Busan, where people have been given the information of the economic and social development of Yichang. Zhou, the deputy mayor gave detailed introduction of the resources and market development status in Yichang as well.

  “Love in Yichang” is generally acknowledged in South Korea during the five-day tourism promotion conference. Yichang Municipal Tourism Bureau reached strategic cooperation with the Korea Tourism Association and Busan Tourism Organization in marketing promotion. San Xia Huan Ba Tourism Group, the Three Gorges Waterfall Tourist Site, Chexi Folk Custom Tourist Site, the Chaibuxi Scenic Spot and Yichang branch of China International Travel Service, reached consensus on group travel with Mode Tourism Group, Letian Tourism Group and Korea-China Tourism Group respectively.

  In the meantime, as for flight transportation, the Busan Airline will increase the nonstop round-flights from Seoul, Daegu and Cheongju to Yichang in 2016. There will be at least20, 000 Koreans who choose Yichang as their destination via non-stop trip next year.

  During the conference, the mainstream media of South Korea gave a large coverage of this event. The general secretary of the Korea Tourism Association, the leader of Busan Tourism Organization and the person in charge of Mode Tourism Group claimed the further cooperation with Yichang to enhance mutual understanding and achieve win-win results.
