On December 1, Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University set up a "Counseling Service Center for Paternity and Genetic Testing" in Gezhouba Central Hospital to satisfy the public demand for paternity. Some leaders from Medical Service center of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, the Paternity Testing Center and Gezhouba Central Hospital attended the ceremony.

　　As the first consulting center for paternity and gene test in Yichang, the counseling service is known not only to popularize genetic knowledge but provide the more convenient service for paternity around the city.

　　After the ceremony, the experts from Zhongnan Hospital trained the medical staff of Gezhouba Central Hospital in professional knowledge, laws and regulations. More experts will be assigned at interval to provide lectures and relevant materials in gene testing. The primary physician could have access to visit, study, training and technical support. In addition, specific requirements have been provided concerning the advisory service of the consulting center, the privacy of clients and the responsibilities.

　　The testing report could be released directly from Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University to the Ge Zhouba Center Hospital. The paternity test client can get the report from Gezhouba Central Hospital without the journey to and forth between the two cities. (Correspondent Jing Zhong, Ma Hongmin)
