The Exhibition and Recommendation Fair of Agricultural Scientific and Technological Achievements (Cooperation Fair), sponsored by Yichang Municipal Agriculture Bureau and undertaken by Yichang Municipal Academy of Agricultural Science, was held in Yichang on November 20th. A series of innovation achievements promoted by 12 teams of Yichang Academy of Agricultural Sciences were on display, including dozens of new products such as cooking oil, corn and konjak, attracting the participating entrepreneurs to make orders instantly.

　　On the same day, 8 innovative enterprises including Hubei Luohan Scientific and Technical Company, Changyang Yongxing Company and Wufeng Guanglian Ecological Farming Company rushed to sign technical cooperation agreements with the innovation teams, whose scientific  achievements in konjak, corn, herbs, animal husbandry and agricultural machinery appealed to them.

　　In order to make more promotions for the scientific and technical achievements, Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences made full use of its platform and built positive cooperation with 32 leading enterprises (Dingxin Biology Co. Ltd, Tulaohan Gaffer Group, Xiao’s Tea Co. Ltd, Caihua Tea Co Ltd, Yizhi Konjak Co., Ltd and so on). They established demonstration bases for transformation of achievements, conducted joint research on problems in production and made technical consultation about industry development, enabling Yichang’s scientific and technical innovation in agriculture to contribute enormously to its economy.

　　Wang Youhai, the party chief and president of Yichang Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences, put that as the major group to launch agricultural scientific research, the Academy should define the prominent task in the future work by strengthening the cooperation between scientific research units, leading enterprises and marketing departments to speed up the achievement transformation; positively promoting the transformation of agriculture from traditional to featured; improving its capacity of independent innovation and industrial support. Thus, it can accelerate the pace of innovative and green development of Yichang through the channels of technology and achievement.

　　As the national key city-level academy(office) defined by Chinese Department of Agriculture, Yichang Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences has five modern comprehensive agriculturalal  experiment and demonstration bases, and it is also the national comprehensive experimental station of modern rape industry and technology system, national and provincial crop variety regional test station, provincial comprehensive experimental station of modern agricultural industry and technological system for late navel orange and summer corn and national and provincial rice disease resistance identification unit. It has undertaken more than 300 municipal, provincial and national scientific research projects, and gained 128 municipal, provincial and national-level scientific research achievements.

　　In recent years, a batch of leading figures, like Fei Fuhua, “King of Konjak” who enjoyed the special allowance of the State Council emerging from the Academy has created an array of agricultural scientific results. They breed 9 new rice varieties including Jufeng A and Jufeng Optimal 72, 7 new corn varieties including Yidan 629 and Yidan 858, 8 of which obtained the protection right of national new plant variety. In addition, it sets 5 provincial standards including the identification of rice diseases, disease prevention and control and cultivation of Konjak, in which 3 technologies obtain the national patent, and some of its advantage disciplines rank in the forefront within Hubei province.
