According to Yichang Customs, China and European Union officially started the mutual recognition of AEO from this month and three high-level certificated enterprises of Yichang will enjoy the same benefits as other European Union certificated enterprises when passing the customs of 28 member countries of EU. As is roughly estimated, the average rate of custom inspection of our city will be decreased by 70% while the speed of passing the customs will be increased by 50%.

　　AEO stands for “Authorized Economic Operator”. The enterprises which pass the recognition of AEO will be authorized as honest, legal and safe enterprises by the customs, thus enjoy conveniences while passing the customs of the country and mutual-recognition countries. After China and Europe’s mutual recognition of AEO, the customs of two countries will provide related enterprises with convenience when they import and export goods. The convenience includes reducing inspection or cutting down the processes of risk evaluation related to supervision and control, committing the identity of safe trade companion, enjoying priority of passing the custom and being protected by the trade continual operating insurance mechanism.

　　The European Union is the fourth biggest trade partner of Yichang. In the previous three quarters, there were 138 enterprises which carried out import and export trade with the European Union. Three of them were high-level certificated enterprises, namely the Angel Yeast Co.,Ltd, Hubei Xingfa Chemical Group Co.,Ltd and Hubei Shennong Phosphate Industry Technology Co., Ltd. Yichang Custom encouraged more foreign trade enterprises to pass the custom high-level certification and become AEO enterprises in order to enjoy better conveniences while passing customs.(Reporter Pei Shujing and correspondent Liu Lingqiao)
