With the release of the tourism promotion film Love for Yichang at the Diaoyutai State Hotel, Yichang tourism once again was praised. On December 13th, the ceremony of the Forum of the 2015 Economic Globalization and Chinese Cities’ Innovative Development as well as the release conference of the List of the Commentary on Global Tourism and the List of the Tourism Culture was held in Beijing. Yichang was awarded the title of the “Top 10 Most Popular Tourist City” and the “Top 10 Livable and Worth Traveling City”. In addition, Yichang was the only one that won two awards in Hubei province. Zhou Zhengying, the vice mayor of Yichang, accepted the prizes.    

According to the reports from Global Times and other global media authorities, the award list was made by the commentary center with many data collected from the global survey center and the suggestions given by many experts. Since the launch of the selection activity, the organizer has carried on the comprehensive evaluation work for each city involved by analyzing several index from the survey data collected on-line and off-line, such as the city’s ecological environment and the popularity of its scenic spots, the tourist’s satisfaction and so on.

Among the 19 final qualified cities, Yichang was the only one prefectural-level city which obtained the two awards at the same time. During the process, Zhou Zhengying, as the representative of Yichang, also presented the forum themed “the city’s sustainable development”. (Reporter Wang Ying, correspondent Fan Ruiqing)
