ChangyangTujia Autonomous County Tourism Administration (the Administration) built up the momentum for the first ChangyangTujia Traditional Food Festival (the Festival) at the Wanda Plaza in the urban Yichang on the December 13th, and held the benefiting activities, sponsored by QingjiangFangshan Mountain, i.e. “Swine Feast for the Masses” (the Feast) and “Gifts by Scanning the QR”. A total of 5,000 sets of ticket worth 300,000 yuan were handed out the same day.
The crowd participated in activities at the scene on that day by scanning the QR of official wechat address via mobile phones such as QR of Changyang Tourism, to get the preferential sets of ticket with the denomination of 60yuan. With such a package, the citizens can head for QingjiangFangshan Mountain Scenic Spot for a group trip organized by some relevant travel agencies or self-drive tour. In addition to viewing the swine sacrificial ceremony and sceneries of QingjiangFangshan Mountain, they can also enjoy Tujia wind instrument and percussion and Tujia songs and dances, taste Tujia steamed meat and corn wine, and buy mountain products and local specialities.
Singing and dancing feast of strong Tujia characteristics was presented by the Administration as the organizer, including many splendid shows such as All-around Victory, Tujia Toasting Songs, Fourth Sister Huang, Drinking Tea for Six times and Changyang Bashan Dance. All of these shows were greeted with hearty rounds of applause.
You Mengting, one of the present Yichang citizens, was the first appearing on the stage in the interactive session and won an admission ticket for QingjiangFangshan Mountain and a package of Changyang local products by her correct and resourceful answers to the host’s question. She told the reporter, “I’ve long heard that QingjiangFangshan Mountain is famous for its steepness and beautiful landscape. I had intended to visit there during the New Year holiday. Fortunately, now I get the preferential package via scanning the QR. I am so happy! ”
The first Festival and the Feast will end on January 30th, 2016, lasting nearly two months. Over 100 tables of swine feast will be provided to tourists from far and near who can also enjoy the Tujia steamed meat at the launching ceremony on December 19th.
Fang Zijie, deputy director of the Administration said that this Feast may become the largest Tujia “swine feast” in Hubei province and even in China, which would propel the deep integration of Changyang ecotourism and Tujia culture, and guide citizens to enjoy an environmental-friendly life among beautiful country scenes.
