Crack the “hard nuts” of creating clean delicacy-serving places

There must be a kind of delicious street food that always attracts you in your memory. But some small-sized restaurants have the problem of dirty, disorderly and poor eating environment.  

As far as the reporter knows, the Yichang government has successively carried out the centralized control measures to solve the “Four Small Businesses” (including small restaurants, small stores, small food workshops and vendor’s stands). Both governments at the city and county levels have invested more than 20 million yuan as money award to stimulate the owners of “Four Small Businesses” to cooperate with the control work, which has helped over 320 small food workshops to get united in doing business. During this process, the government utilizes the down-town land to construct centralized night markets for food vendors’ businesses and formulates the fixed time and fixed location for night-market operation. Presently, there are more than ten centralized consumption areas, such as the CBD night market in Xiling District and Jinling night market in Xiaoting District, which is to ensure that street foods are healthy!    

Visible kitchens: say farewell to “unclean” foods

“I come to this restaurant for meals frequently, but I never have a chance to visit the kitchen. Now that the situation of the kitchen can be seen thought TV, I know how my meals are prepared and cooked and feel relieved to dine here,” Zhang Qiangsaid, who lives at the Development Zone. He always comes to the Zuiaiwojia Restaurant in CBD, enjoying his meal and watching the monitor screen at times.   

The different modes of visible kitchen, video-taking kitchen, open kitchen have been introduced and promoted at hotels, canteens and small restaurants with different management structures, which allows the consumers to monitor the kitchens. In addition, in accordance with the management conditions of food safety, the restaurants are evaluated with level A, level B and level C, which are expressed with the cartoon images of big smile, smile and poker face, respectively. Thus, the citizens can choose the restaurants with big smile to have their meals.

The special “ID” for vegetables, fruits and meat

Can the quality of vegetables be trusted and whether they have excessive amount of pesticide residues? The salesclerks cannot prove the quality of vegetables just by a few words, but now, the citizens can check the vegetables and fruits’ “ID” by scanning the 2D codes. The reporter saw all the fresh vegetables and fruits in the Dongfangnianhua Modern Agricultural Park in Zhijiang County were tagged with 2D codes. The citizens can check the information about their planting places, fertilizer-using and pest control conditions, etc.      

As for the traceable monitor, Yichang has currently implemented the policy of asking for food invoices and certificates to accelerate the electronic traceability of food safety. It enables the citizens to know the agricultural products’ sourcing and selling channels and the responsibility holding parties who provide vegetables, fruits and other food materials.
