On December 22nd, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited and Daohuaxiang Liquor Co. Ltd held the signing and opening ceremony for the Wanglaoji (Yichang) Innovation Trinity Base of Production, Science and technology and Culture (Hereinafter referred to as Wanglaoji Trinity Base) inYichang. The ceremony was chaired by the deputy mayor Zhou Zhengying, and attended by Huang Chuping, member of the Standing Committee of Hubei Province and Secretary of Yichang Municipal Committee, and Ma Xuming, the mayor and also vice-secretary of the Municipal Committee. Li Chuyuan, general manager and Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangzhou Limited (the parent company of Wanglaoji), and CaiHongzhu, president and Secretary of Party Committee of Daohuaxiang Group jointly announced the opening of the base.  

During the ceremony, Huang Chuping meets with of Li Chuyuan and his group and expresses his appreciation and congratulations for the alliance between the two giant companies. He says, right after the ending of the Chinese Central Economic Work Conference and Central Urban Work Conference in Beijing, the opening of the joint project is an immediate embodiment of our learning and carrying out the keynotes of the two conferences and it will exert a far-reaching impact on the development of Yichang. And the cofounding of Wanglaoji Trinity Base is not simply an economic cooperation; it is also remarkably significant in-depth communication between and blending of Lingnan culture and Chu culture. For the present, we must understand profoundly the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, act according to its requirements and deployments relating to the strengthening of the structural reform, and carry out the five developing ideas of innovation, coordination, green, opening up and sharing, and actively achieve the missions of cutting industrial overcapacity, destocking, deleveraging, reducing costs and tackling shortages while speeding up the cultivation of new kinetic energy. In a word, unremitting efforts should be made by us all in order to build a beautiful and healthy China.

Ma Xuming addresses the ceremony by saying that, foodstuff and bio-medicine is one of the six key 100 billion industries supported by Yichang municipal government so that the gross value of the industrial output has reached 150 billion in 2014. And Guangzhou Limited and Daohuaxiang Liquor group, both among the list of China’s top 500 companies, are the topdogs in their respective fields, so their cooperative efforts will surely have a strong pulling effect on Daohuaxiang’s development and to the development of Yichang’s foodstuff and bio-medicine industry. The mayor also says, the city government will uphold the concept of “industry being priority, service being supreme”, provide an investment climate of best service, lowest cost and highest efficiency and support the cooperative project so that it can be completed and put into production as early as possible. He expresses his hope too that Guangzhou Limited will invest more by building more and better projects in Yichang.

Li Chuyuan says, Wanglaoji Trinity Base, employs the advantageous resources of Hubei province, and has established a strategic partnership with Daohuaxiang Group and thus has successfully constructed its core energy zone in Central China, and such move will play a vital role in its in-depth integrative industry layout and accelerate its globalization. Daohuaxiang group, another time-honored brand and a national key leading enterprise of agricultural industrialization, has been listed as one of the “China\'s top 500 enterprises” for years. Their cooperation, with the strong support from the governments of Yichang and Hubei Province, is a product of very favorable conditions. The base will colligate its many advantageous resources and develop into a big platform in Central China for promoting herbal tea culture and enlarged health research collaboration.

CaiHongzhu says, it is for the first time that the two giant companies have joined hands and they will surely colligate all resources and tap their respective advantages to formulate an integrated power. As a result, their strategic cooperative project will play a leading role in the development of Yichang enlarged health industry. And the two groups will take further steps to deepen their cooperation.

At the ceremony, the representatives from both sides signed a series of cooperation agreements which includes the project cooperation agreement signed by Wu Changhai, vice general manager of Guangzhou Limited and vice-president of Wanglaoji Enlarged Health Industry Co. Ltd and Caikaiyun, the executive vice president and also general manager of Daohuaxiang Group; the agreement to set up the innovation industry base signed by WengShaoquan, vice general manager of Wanglaoji Enlarged Health Industry Co. Ltd and Chen Xianguo, director of Hubei Yousuosi Food Company, and the cooperation agreement signed by XuKeyi, deputy director of the great south medicine plate of Guangzhou Limited and general manager of Guangzhou Baiyunshan Hutchison Whampoa Traditional Chinese Medicine Company and Yan Daxiang, general manager of Daohuaxiang Liquor Co. Ltd.

Guangzhou Limited is among the keynote enterprises of Guangdong Province with the 187- year-old Wanglaoji as the core plate of its enlarged health industry and its total sales exceeded 20 billion yuan in 2014. The cooperation project is a fruitful result of Yichang’s investment attraction policy following the signing of the strategic cooperation framework of “great south medicine, enlarged health, big commerce” between the Yichang municipal government and Guangzhou Limited in October, 2014. The two parties will expand their cooperation to healthy liquor, beverage and production capacity. To be specific, a Wanglaoji herbal tea museum and Wanglaoji enlarged health research center will be set up with an annual output of 7 million items and an annual production value of 500 billion yuan.

Prior to the signing ceremony, the group of Ma Xuming and Li Chuyuan came to Daohuaxiang Group where they visited the production line of Wanglaoji Trinity Base, the ancient Longquan town, the main office building of the packaging industrial park, and the liquor cellar as well as the 151 packaging center of Daohuaxiang Liquor Industry.
