On December 30th, the comprehensive management of Shahe environment and area development interception project started in Yichang new district with total investment of 8 billion yuan, marking the substantive start-up phase in this project. On the day of starting work, Wu Kangnian, Municipal People’s Congress deputy director, researched the project. He hoped that departments at all levels actively support the construction of the project, creating a good environment for the construction and said that Municipal People’s Congress will further intensify supervision to ensure that the engineering was fast and safe.

As an important social investment project promoted in Yichang new district, the comprehensive management of Shahe environment and area development interception project, invested by the CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Investigation and Design Institute Co., Ltd. is known to be surrounded by Dongshan Four Road, Weihe Road, Three Gorges Express Road, Huanghe Road, Yunlin Road, Ye Mingzhu Road, Zhaoyang Road and Shancheng Road, with an area of 4300 mu. The works include the interception works, river training works, the reconstruction and expansion of the Shahe sewage treatment plant, road, bridge and ecological landscape engineering (containing sponge urban design), comprehensive pipe gallery works and the shantytown renovation in Shahe area as well as the linkage development of land.
