Over 100 Billion Kw/h Electricity Generated in Two Damns Last Year
2016-01-12 11:09:43

According to Xinhua News Agency on December 31st, the electricity volume generated by the Three Gorges Dam and Gezhouba Dam has exceeded 100 billion Kilowatt-hour in the year 2015.

According to the CTGC, the Three Gorges Hydro-power Station has generated an electricity volume of 86.9 billion Kilowatt-hour and Gezhouba Dam Hydro-power Station has generated 17.9 billion by the end of December 30th. The total electricity volume of the two hydro-power stations is 104.8 billion kilowatt-hour. At the same time, Xiluodu Hydro-power Station generates 55.1 billion and Xiangjianba Dam generates 30.7 billion.

The flow from upstream of Yangtze River is not basically enough this year. Since July, the precipitation of most northern of Yangtze River’s upstream areas has reduced by over 20%, some even by 50% to 80%. The inflow of Three Gorges Reservoir has reduced by 30% compared to the long-time average annual value. Though facing bad situations, CTGC has successfully guaranteed a good electricity productivity through scientific scheduling and delicate administration. (Reporter,, Tan Yuanbin)
