A Special Campaign on Prevention and Control of Air Pollution Launched in Yichang Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Air Pollution, newly revised, has been carried out since Jan. 1st in 2016. The Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau recently held a mobilization meeting to learn and implement the new law, and launched a special campaign on the prevention and control of air pollution.

The new Law, the first special one connected to new Environmental Protection law of the People’s Republic of China, strengthens governmental responsibility, consolidates standard control, specifies the air pollution quality standard and the pollutant discharge standards, and makes specific rules about comprehensive prevention and control of air pollution caused by fire coal, industry, motor vehicles, dust, agriculture and etc. Besides, it increases penalties and classifies nearly 90 specific punishments, thus, improving the operation and the pertinence of the new law.

Since Jan. 1st in 2016, the environmental protection department has conducted a special campaign on the prevention and control of air pollution in the whole city, strictly punishing the alleged illegal enterprises according to the new law. Furthermore, it has also propagandized the new law, strengthened the cooperation among different departments, and resolutely fought to prevent and control air pollution.
