According to Xinhua News Agency on Jan. 8, the flood water in Three Gorges Reservoir has been fully utilized during the flood season of 2015, which signifies its realization the “Zero Waste of Water Resources” for the first time.

China Three Gorges Corporation has been positively keeping in touch with the Yangtze River Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters to adopt the optimizing measures like the floating operation of water levels and thus has achieved the “Zero Waste of Water Resources” for the first time, i.e. the flood channels were not used to discharge flood, which helped avoid the waste of water. According to the experts of Three Gorges Hydro Project Dispatching and Communication Center in China Three Gorges Corporation, the “Zero Waste of Water Resources” indicated that the flood water flew through the generators, which made a maximum utilization of water resources.  

The generator sets of Three Gorges Power Station have been functioning well in 2015 with the annual power generation capacity of 87 billion KWh. (Reporter: Tan Yuanbin)
