Winter is the peak period for eating mutton. On Jan. 13th, the reporter found that the mutton price this year is mostly between 36 yuan/kg to 50 yuan/kg through the interview in Guoyuanlu Market, Zhangjiadian Market and 403 Market. Many stall holders stated that the mutton price of last year was between 50 to 60 yuan/kg.

At 7 o’clock in the evening, the reporter went to the Three Gorges Logistics Park. A man who runs wholesale business of mutton said that the price of captive sheep is 33 yuan/kg and the price of goat is 44 yuan/kg, while that of the two types of mutton was respectively 48 to 52 yuan/kg and 60 to 62 yuan/kg. The price fell a lot.

Although the price generally declined, the reporter found that mutton from different places has different prices. In the Zhongbai Warehouse Supermarket on the Yiling Avenue, the price of sheep hind leg whose producing area was Inner Mongolia shown on the package is 63.6 yuan/kg and the price of foreleg whose producing area was Chile is 51.8 yuan/kg. The shop assistant states that this mutton sells at higher price due to its superb quality. (Reporter: Chen Xi; Internship: Huang Han)
