Standing in front of the “Space-time Tunnel” in the Planning Exhibition Gallery, he softly touched the large screen, thus the images suddenly flashed from the decades-old Yichang to a modern Yichang. Deeply impressed by Yichang’s never-ending changes and improvements, Mr. Li is full of confidence about the future.
The staff of Planning Exhibition Gallery told the reporter that as soon as the Exhibition Gallery was open at 9 o’clock a.m. yesterday, many citizens who had waited a long time filed in. The number of the visitors was over 300 yesterday morning. Since the Exhibition Gallery began its pilot run on Nov. 31, it receives more than 300 visitors every day, and until now, over 10,000 people have visited it. At present, over 90% of the planned projects have completed, and only a few projects are still in the test stage, which include: “Scene Theater of the Three Gorges Dam”, “Interactive Space” and the “Interactive Theater of the Three Kingdoms”, which will be open to the public at the scheduled time.
Yichang’s Planning Exhibition Gallery is located in the Wujiagang District with an above-ground construction area of 15,000 square meters. Themed as the “Pleasant City and Prosperous Place”, it highlights its core connotation of “changing city” in accordance with the development course of Yichang, which is categorized into six parts, namely, the Impression of Yichang—Pearl of the Three Gorges, Bachu Charm with Thousand-year Changes, New City with New Color Showing the Glory of the Time, Grand Prospect—the Rise of the Megacity, Ecological Wisdom for Future Dream, and Interactive Leisure Place with Sunshine.
Yichang’s Planning Exhibition Gallery is quite modern, intensive and open, having the multi-functions such as exhibition, culture, education and entertainment, etc. Relying on modern high technologies, it integrates modern zodiac electrical technologies, such as the multi-point space for interactive experience, 3D virtual demonstration, restoration of historic scenes, 3D screen, multichannel projection and 4D dynamic theater into each showcase. The Planning Exhibition Gallery adopts various approaches, aiming to serve visitors in a scientific way, impart knowledge in a relaxing manner, and combining virtual space with real space to demonstrate the past, present and future of Yichang in a lively and detailed manner.
In front of many exhibition spots, many visitors stopped by to watch closely. Looking at the planning display board of Yichang’s New District, Mr. Ma told the reporter with a smile that “this is a weathervane for house-buyers”. After the visit, many citizens said that they still want to come back also bringing their families to witness the rapid changes of Yichang next time.
