The Deputies to the National People’s Congress (NPC) from Yichang journeyed to Beijing on March 2 for the annual sessions of NPC and Chinese People\'s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) to make Yichang’ voices heard, carrying the trust and expectation of over 4m Yichang people.

There are 5 deputies in total: Ding Yanzhang, general manager of China Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd. and China Energy Engineering Co., Ltd.; Li Lecheng, director of Hubei Provincial Development and Reform commission; Cai Hongzhu, chairman of Hubei DaoHuaXiang Group Co., Ltd.; Yao Juan, director of the R&D Center of Yichang Angel Yeast Co., Ltd.; and Zhang Qiong, deputy county magistrate of Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County.

Zhang Qiong is to submit 15 proposals to the Two Sessions, including Support for Yichang’s Declaration of National Innovation Reform Experimental Area, and the Establishment of New International Logistics Channel of Yichang-Xinjiang-Europe Waterway-Highway-Railway Coordinated Transport, and one legislative bill on Rural Health Environmental Protection Law of the PRC.

As a representative of non-public ownership economy, Cai Hongzhu will present the following proposals to the Two Sessions, which are the Incorporation of Ecological Economic Corporation Zone of the Three Gorges Area (Three-Gorges-Centered City Cluster) into National Strategies, Accelerating the Development of the Three Gorges Economic Hub, Approval on the Establishment of Inland Free Trade Zone (Yichang Area of Hubei Province) of China, Support for Yichang’s Establishment of Three Gorges Healthy Aquaculture Industrial Area and Accelerating the Development of the Three Gorges Comprehensive Transportation System.

Yao Juan continues to focus on “a bite of safety”. This year also bears witness to several proposals submitted by her, including Further Ban on the Food Variety Scopes of Food Additives Containing Aluminum, Stipulation on the Limit Standard for Aluminum Content in Food Excluding Non-aluminum Food Additives and Cutting Food Regulations Variation and Strengthening the Linkage of Laws. Moreover, she will put forward the proposals of industrial development on the Establishment of China Association of Soil and Fertilizer and Adding Production Address to Feed Production Permit.
