From March 7th to 10th, the pre-feasibility study report launching meeting of Asian Development Bank loan of Yichang elderly community PPP project was held in Yichang. 16 specialists, who came from Asian Development Bank and the Asia City Development Center, gathered in Yichang, giving ideas and suggestions to the project. During the meeting, Wang Guobin and Xuhui, the city leaders had a meeting with these specialists. Wang Guobin, the deputy mayor, demanded that all relevant departments and units actively cooperate with each other to make Yichang become the demonstration city of pension industry in whole country.

To solve the problem of aging population, in 2014 ADB implemented the first technological assistance research project of retirement industry – Strategic Research of the Development of Yichang Retirment Industry. Taking advantages of the achievement of ADB technical assistance, our city has applied for the Yichang’s demonstration project of comprehensive service for the aged and the Yichang community service for the aged PPP demonstration project in the last year. ADB paid high attention to the project, commissioned Asia City Development Center for technical assistance. ACDC provided $300, 000 grant, and recruiting experts from every corner of the world, for supporting this application. Yichang’s demonstration project of comprehensive service for the aged has successfully received approval in February this year, and loaned $150 million from the ADB.    .

A panel of experts, led by Adolf, the office director of the Asian City Development Center and Sophia, the chief project manager of Asian Development Bank, carried out on-the-spot examination of parts of Yichang pension agency and facility, also they communicated with departments directly under city government and the city district government, including Municipal Finance, Civil Affairs, Development and Reform Commission, Land and Resources Bureau about the Related Issues.
