On March 9, the Provincial Product Quality Strategy Promotion Conference was held in Wuhan. Liu Jianxin, vice mayor of Yichang, gave an introduction of the city’s experience in product quality promotion.
In recent years, the city has been working on “quality priority” policy and a quality priority city by implementing high-quality sustainable core strategy and constructing the work pattern of high quality. Meanwhile we have highlighted work status, system improvement, quality-oriented strategy and strict assessment for the dream.
Aiming at creating high-quality brands and promoting economic restructuring and upgrading, we are exerting our efforts to improve industry quality, accelerate the elimination of some low quality brand and low value-added industries to concentrate on cultivating six industries with hundreds billion value , establish strategic new industries and vigorously promote standard-based innovation. The city has participated in or hosted the revision of 156 national quality standards or industry standards. Besides, 48 provincial standards and 45 municipal standards have been made in Yichang. We are striving to create Yichang brands, construct quality technology platform and perfect public services, enhancing enterprise research platform, public testing platform and standard innovation platform to promote livelihood quality construction for people. We are implementing grid-management to solve the key issues, adhere to problem-oriented service and work for service improvement. Having been awarded as Quality-Advanced Unit in Hubei Province for seven consecutive years, the city was proclaimed as one of Top Ten Chinese Quality Charming City and High-Quality Powerful Model City by the State Administration of Quality Supervision in 2014.
At the conference, related products from 406 enterprises were proclaimed as Hubei Famous Brands in 2015, of which 49 enterprises are from Yichang, making up 12%, an increase of 2% compared with the statistics of last year. (Reporter Chen Xi; Correspondent Zheng Jialie, Qiu Yong and Li Mengxiang)
