The Yichang Municipal Conference on E-commerce was held in the city area on March 11th, which the deputy mayor Zhou Zhengying attended.

Developing E-commerce is in the urgent need to serve people and improve their livelihood, the effective approach for serving social and economic development and also the new engine driving economic transformation, sustainable development and advancing quality and efficiency. It’s important to engage various sectors and industries to be involved into E-commerce, teach the public how to make transaction online and promote the local products on the Internet marketing. We should strengthen the implementation and supervision of earnestly mobilizing the mass and training more E-commerce professionals; and we should actively develop distinctive E-commerce parks and improve the distribution and financial services of logistics and warehousing management. It’s necessary to explore the new model of multi-field combination of establishing E-commerce cities and E-commerce villages, and properly extend industrial chain to form new industrial growth points. Efforts should be made to seek the development of cross-border E-commerce. On one hand, city and county governments should improve the leadership institute and operation mechanism, establish the supporting policies and make plans for the advancement of E-commerce; on the other hand, strengthen regional, trade and multi-sector cooperation.

It was reported that this year’s E-commerce turnover exceeded 90 bln yuan, and online retail revenues 10 bln yuan; there were 3-plus enterprises of over 1 bn yuan of E-commerce turnover, and 10-plus enterprises of over 10m yuan; moreover, more than 10,000 E-commerce professionals have been trained.
