Upgrading and transformation of synthetic ammonia gasification will not only reduce production costs, improve efficiency but greatly improve the whole factory environment. Yichang factory area of Yihua Group will be converted into a garden-like factory area, becoming a new bright spot of Yichang city. In the afternoon of March 11th, a sunny day, synthetic ammonia gasification upgrade spot of Yihua Group, located in industrial zone former Yunchi business zone of Xiaoting district, depicted a busy atmosphere. More than ten workers were cleaning up the construction waste. Du Xianghua, the director of Engineering Command Office, pointed to the demolition site, saying expectantly “gold and silver mountains are inferior to green hills.” As Du Xianghua put it, in response to the national policy of Three Eliminations, One Reduction and One Complementarity ( Three eliminations mean upgrading and transformation of products in order to avoid the unfair competition because of exceeding demand, refund of all kinds of debts and  reduction of inventory; one reduction means reduction of production costs; one complementarity means trying to enrich and enhance the knowledge deficiency ), since the November last year, Yihua Group has been working on the industrial upgrading of subsidiaries. The group will introduce the most advanced technologies such as coal-water slurry clean coal gasification, sulfur-tolerant conversion high temperature technology, low temperature methanol wash technology, steam-driven centrifugal compressor technology and low pressure ammonia synthesis technology.

Low carbon environmental protection is also competitive. Du Xianghua said, after upgrading, the ammonia of coal consumption per ton decreased by about 200kg and the ammonia of integrated power consumption per ton decreased by about 400 degrees, leading to an increase of 50% in labor productivity and a decrease of 600RMB in per ammonia costs, which will enhance the group’s competitiveness in the field of ammonia.

Upgraded coal-water slurry technology not only significantly reduce the amount of sewage emissions but treat the sewage containing more COD from other production lines and other factories as well, thus greatly reducing the load of sewage. In addition, coal-water slurry technology, a very environment-friendly technology, also can solve the substandard problem of sewage emissions. The ash from the coal-fired boilers sewage is high-quality construction materials and could be sold directly, said Zhu Yue, the deputy commander of Ammonia Industrial Upgrading Office.

Yi Hua Group will take the lead in carrying out the ammonia gasification technical innovation in regional subsidiaries, aiming at establishing the regional core technology research and development center and spreading it to other subsidiaries across the country. The total size of this transformation amounts to 200 ammonia tons a year with total investment of nearly 50 billion. Approximately 1.5 billion yuan as the new annual cash flow will be reached after the new device has been put into effect. Zhu Yue said that Yi Hua Group will play a vital role in boosting the upgrading and transformation of nationwide heavy chemical industry.

The ammonia industrial upgrading project of Yi Hua Group in Xiaoting district is expected to be completed within 18 months whereas the generally establishment of the similar devices will be completed within two to three years. (Reporter Zhang Liang, Pei Shu Jing; Correspondent Zhang Chuyun)
