On March 26th, in Yichang Three Gorges new tourism area, collective starting working ceremony for the first batch of key projects in 2016was held. Five projects officially launched construction, with a total investment of 4066 million yuan, which featured large investment volume, good brand effect and highly economic benefit.

The five projects, which collectively started, were the following: programs in Xiling Gorges Scenic Area, with a total investment of about 200 million yuan , mainly including the construction of tourist center, reorganization and expansion the scenic tour trails and rebuilding the scenic pier; Yichang Three Gorges International RV Campground, located in the forest park in Xiling Gorges Scenic Area, with a total investment of 238 million yuan, mainly constructing self-driving recreational vehicle camps, developing the specialty catering, forest adventures and other outdoor development projects. Yichang Three Gorges Tourist Information Center, located in the Fengjiawan triangle road, which is the section of the Three Gorge special expressway, with a total investment of 75 million yuan for mainly building the certificate, security and tourist service center in the Three Gorges Dam;  the comprehensive development projects in Xia Lao Xi scenic, located in Jiangjiamiao village along Xia Lao XI to the estuary of Yangtze River, with a total investment of 1553 million yuan, including river dredging, landscape road, newly built theme parks, outdoor recreation, theme hotels and beautiful villages, ect.Nanjingguan tourism town project, with a total investment of about 2 billion yuan, mainly depending on Yilian road, aims at creating a new tourist town covering the area from nanjingguan to the Three Travelers Cave area.

Since this year, the Three Gorges new tourism district, according to the demand of upgrading standard, speed and spirit, has firmly centered on the strategic targets of building tourism industry gathering area, the core area of tourism service, brand and image display area and the reform as well as innovation demonstration zone in Yichang, in accordance with the work plans of focusing on the projects construction to promote the change of the new tourism districts, 56 major projects of the ThirteenthFive- Year Plan was designed, with a total investment of 64.7 billion yuan and another 17 projects over billion yuan. This year will successively launch 12 construction projects, with a total investment of 12.8 billion yuan, accelerating building the Three Gorges tourism district into the leisure tourism destination, which is the one-up in China and the first-class in the world.
