Based on the existing transportation infrastructure, through road improvement and landscape optimization, guidance signs perfection, viewing platform, temporary parking-lots, sanitation facilities and related services configuration, Yichang plans to take on a new look by building 11 tourism landscape corridors along the main roads connecting the cities and counties in Yichang. Reporters were informed from the tourism promoting meeting of the first quarter recently.

It is said that the tourism landscape corridors refer to the road connecting the tourism areas, meeting the demands of tourists’ appreciation of the beauty and tourism information, and they are integrally beautiful, equipped with complete service facilities and well organized. For example, Baishi Ping to Qingjiang Landscape Gallery Scenic Spot section, the most beautiful tourist landscape corridor built in Zhangyang; tourists can enjoy the sweet-scented osmanthus trees along the road after leaving the Shanghai-Chengdu highway. The tourists can enjoy uniform traffic-oriented sign boards, well-dressed border trees and shrubs instead of ads and road garbage. At night, the bright lamps shine on the road and the neon lights dotted on the tree twinkle. At present, the local government is making full effort to build Danshui New district eco-tourism corridor with 10 miles osmanthus trees and a lot of crape myrtle planted, creating the picturesque scenery.

Yichang will work hard to construct tourism landscape corridors which connect city and county with the goal of "clean, green, colorful and orderly" this year. The focus of city’s ecological landscape improvement is on seven main corridors, these are, Yichang - Zhijiang, Yichang - Dangyang - Yuanan, Yichang - Yiling District - Xingshan - Shennongjia, Yichang - Dianjun - Zigui, Yichang - Changyang - Enshi, Yichang - Yidu - Wufeng, Yichang - Xiling Gorge - Three Gorges Tribes - Three Gorges Dam. Meanwhile, Yichang will create 4 corridors to connect each county and city, these are, Zhijiang - Dangyang, Yuanan - Lotus Town - Yiling District, Zigui - Xingshan, Zigui - Dianjun - Changyang - Wufeng.

The government requires that second-class or above tourist highways should be entirely tarred with 4G network. The orderly and colorful landscape trees and the largely planted locally grown trees form the "colorful way" landscape scenery. At the same time, the government needs to improve the identification signs, parking-lots, tourism toilets, advisory services centers and the viewing platforms along the road. The city wants to build high-quality tourist routes by combining the scenic spots scattered in counties and urban districts through the landscape corridors.
