According to the Municipal People’s Congress Committee, the Legislative Act of Yichang’s People’s Congress and its Standing Committees have been approved by the twelfth Provincial People’s Congress Committee on its twenty first conference, which marks that our city’s first local legislative regulations to standardize our legislative

The Legislative Act was firstly drafted by the legislative working department of Yichang Municipal People’s Congress Committee last September and was put into deliberation on the 28th Conference of the 5th Municipal People’s Congress Committee. On January 23rd of this year, it was approved through a unanimous vote on the seventh conference the fifth Municipal People’s Congress Committee. It is reported that the Provincial People’s Congress Committee has approved the legislative acts of 12 cities and autonomous prefecture and their Standing Committees including Yichang at one time.

Yichang Municipal Legislative Act is divided into six chapters with fifty-seven items which have established the basic spirits and fundamental principles of our Municipal People\'s Congress and its Standing Committees and set up clear procedure specifications for us to follow during the process of our municipal legislative work. They will ensure our Municipal People\'s Congress and its Standing Committee to carry out legislative work with high standards and qualities.

According to the 2016 legislative working plan, Yichang Municipal People\'s Congress and its Standing Committees are speeding up the work, and they will put deliberation of two local legislative regulations, namely the “Yichang Urban Major Green Land Protection Regulations” and the “Yichang Urban Architecture’s Facade Regulations” at a right time within this year in order to make legislative breakthroughs in environmental protection and urban and rural construction and management in 2016.
