The shantytowns renovation project at South Ring Road of Yichang started to be built, which marked that the biggest shantytowns renovation project was officially launched.
With a total investment of 8 billion yuan, the shantytown transformation at South Ring Road, a provincial, municipal and regional key project developed and constructed by Shanghai June Yao Group, covers an area of 386.11 mu (0.27 square km). In the projects, residences are to be demolished and arranged, historical blocks, high-grade apartments, businesses, work offices, kindergartens, communities, vegetable markets and other supporting facilities are to be completed in 2020. In the concept of nostalgia and Yichang style, the “Eight Scenes in Yichang”——Inkwell Academy, Er Ya Pavilions, Zhong Shu Lane, Stage in Chu-Han Dynasty, Tian Gong Memorial Archway, County Government and Yamen (government office in feudal China and Stilted Building.) will be renovated in the historical and cultural blocks, named “wide and narrow alley” with Yichang style.
345,700 square meters area has been levied for the implementation of the program, which involves 4306 households and more than 13,000 people. At present, the first-stage levy work has been accomplished basically; the second-stage work is planned to be completed before June 30th; the third-and fourth-stage work are planned to be finished before July 30th; the fifth-stage work is being assessed and surveying, mapping and the check of residence permit.
