Days of heavy rain broke the train service from Badong County to Jianshi County, thus notably reducing the number of passengers from YichangDong Railway Station to Chengdu or Chongqing compared with last year. Consequently, the number of passengers at YichangDong Railway Station drops to 117,341 this year, with a decrease of 592 persons over last year. However, temporary eight extra shifts were added between Yichang and Wuhan since Wuhan has been a popular holiday destination.

During the three-day holidays 54 thousand passengers were transported by Yichang Automobile Passenger Transportation Center and Yichang Long-distance Coach Terminal Station, with 25 thousand passenger trips completed on June 9th. There were so many passengers who travelled to Xingshan County, Yidu City, Yuan’an City and Dangyang City in the afternoon that extra tour buses had to be arranged. And June 11th witnessed a small return peak with over 14 thousand passengers arriving at or leaving from the two stations.
