World Bank Officials Inspect Three Gorges Modern Logistics Center

Kyle Peters, the vice president of the World Bank, and his group inspected the Three Gorges Modern Logistic Center program. The vice mayor Yuan Weidong met with the group in the downtown.
The Three Gorges Modern Logistic Center program covers a construction area of about 1.42 square kilometers with an estimated investment about 3 billion yuan. It consists of Baiyang Logistics Park, operation zone of the Baiyang Port, transportation infrastructure, Modern Three Georges Logistics Information Center, etc. The construction period of this program is from 2016 to 2020.
Up to now, this program has gone through the World Bank’s inspections in pre-identification, identification, preparation group as well as economic and financial assessment. The approval work of domestic special reports has been fully completed.
Kyle Peters and his group inspected the construction condition about the Baiyang Port and got to know the program planning, development prospect and so on. He deemed that this program enjoyed a promising development due to its convenient transportation and great regional advantages. He also expressed that closer cooperation would be carried out with the relevant departments of Yichang to promote the implementation of this program. (Reporter: Chen Xi; correspondent: Min Jianhua)
