Yichang signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Reconstruction and Supporting Facilities of Shantytown formally. The Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor Ma Xuming gave a speech at the ceremony, so did Chairman Zou Shunming from Changjiang Industry Investment Group, Hubei Province. A municipal official named Xu Wei was at present too.

　　The Changjiang Industry Investment Group has given Yichang a loan of 16 billion Yuan, which is much bigger than the amount for the other cities except Wuhan. Based on the Agreement, a new joint venture will be established as the subject in charge of the whole reconstruction plan.

　　At the ceremony, Mayor Ma introduced the economic and social status quo of Yichang. He stated that Yichang has vigorously grasped the strategic opportunities such as the advancement of the Yangtze River Economic Zone and Three Gorges Ecological Economy Area, focusing on the development of the Ten Great Industries—with each worth more than 100 billion yuan, including advanced equipment manufacturing, as effective means to deepening the reform comprehensively and promoting green development. Yichang’s attempted economic transition needs strong support of promising enterprises. Since the Group is a big platform for financial investment, it is endowed with core competiveness in the Yangtze River Economic Zone. Yichang and the Group will conduct extensive cooperation in the fields of the reconstruction of shantytowns, construction of infrastructure and new industries. The Agreement will benefit a lot to Yichang’s economic revolution and people’s livelihood. It will eventually accelerate Yichang’s development in building a stronger and more beautiful city.

　　Mayor Ma expects deeper cooperation with the Changjiang Industry Investment Group in the future and faster implementation of the Agreement. He also hopes that the two parties can promote the construction of the supportive and leading projects through the strategic and careful planning.

　　Zou Shunming, Chairman of Changjiang Industry Investment Group, says that there is huge potential in Yichang’s development due to its robust impetus. The Group has always valued the cooperation with and investment in Yichang and will make the best use of its advantages in conducting deeper cooperation with Yichang and its subordinate cities. The Group will make a contribution to the reconstruction of shantytown and new types of urbanization with more cooperation in the shantytown reconstruction, and the construction of Spongy City, Wisdom City and utility tunnel as well.
