　　In June this year, in Zigui---the sacred, mysterious and magical place, tens of thousands of tourists tasted zongzi, appreciated the scent of Chinese mugwort, and enjoyed folk cultural performances like flower-drum dance, lotus gathering boat, etc. During the Dragon Boat Festival, the tourists of Zigui county reached 248,000 and the comprehensive income amounted to 180 million yuan, an year-on-year increase of 15.35% and 17.4% respectively.
　　In recent years, with the opportunity of building national tourism model city and the development concept of being "global-integrated, culture-guided, innovation-driven and market-oriented", Zigui county has been built as the important tourist destination of the Three Gorges, and the world-famous as well as national first-class cultural and ecological tourism leisure resort, showing a strong momentum of leapfrog development.
　　In the tourism promotion meeting of Zigui in March this year, Lu Hui, the county party secretary, stressed that the whole county need to grasp the development trend to build a new tourism development pattern and accelerate the development of tourism to be the county's "ten billion" industry, and "the first strategic pillar industry", enabling Zigui to usher in a new and flourishing era of tourism earlier.
　　Global optimization of tourist landscapes is to integrate all attractive elements of the county, and to build the county as a large scenic spot, a tourist destination, which also helps promote rural tourism.
　　In recent years, great efforts have been made for the construction of the project. Zigui built and rebuilt 19 tourism toilets in the county and accelerated construction of tourism public information guidance system, including 22 traffic guide signs in vital communication lines and important intersections, 23 guide signs for pedestrians and travel service in urban area, 20 tourist guide signs at main roads leading to tourism villages, 10 overlooking platform signs along the Zhilan-Maoping road, and one tourist information consultancy center in Zigui visitor reception center.
　　In terms of setting local standards, from February 2015 to May this year, based on "National Tourism Standardized Pilot Enterprises Work Standards", Zigui county conducted 15 counseling for 42 pilot enterprises, focusing on the guidance of 5 pilot enterprises of Yichang city to learn, implement and set the standards.
　　There are 8 scenic areas in Zigui county, of which Qu Yuan’s Hometown won the national 5A honor, Jiuwanxi Rafting, Jiuwanxi Tourist Resorts, and Bamboos Sea of Three Gorges won the national 4A honor. The rapid development of tourism has helped increase the sales of products in Zigui — the Zigui navel oranges have become the essential of tourism.
　　Wang Gang, director of Zigui County Cultural Tourism Bureau, introduced that during the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" (2016-2020), Zigui county plans to invest 55.124 billion yuan into cultural tourism, including 92 key construction projects. Projects are as follows: 29 resort development and upgrading projects with a total investment of 22.265 billion yuan; 22 rural and featured tourism development projects with a total investment of 10.21 billion yuan; 9 tourism public service projects with a total investment of 3.44 billion yuan; 12 tourism transportation projects with a total investment of 10.807 billion yuan; 11 cultural projects with a total investment of 2.742 billion yuan; and 15 cultural industry projects with a total investment of 5.66 billion yuan.
