On August 24, 2016 Annual Meeting of China's Alcohol Industry was held in Yichang by Angel Yeast Co., Ltd.. Experts from Angel Yeast company, Chinese Academy of Sciences and China Oil and Foodstuffs Corporation (COFCO) shared their ideas at the meeting, where Angel Yeast Company presented its achievements of the research and application of "extreme fermentation".
It is learned that in the 1990s, Angel Yeast Company developed high-temperature resistant high active dry yeast, and the product and the application technology of the yeast won the National Science and Technology Progress Prize. At the beginning of this century, Angel Yeast Company developed super saccharomyces cerevisiae aiming to meet the need of high-concentration mash fermentation in alcohol industry. The new yeast promoted the production capacity of the alcohol industry as well as followed the development demand for the fuel ethanol. At the annual meeting, extreme fermentation technique developed by Angel Yeast Company aims to help to achieve energy conservation, meet environmental standards, make technological progress, and advance the developments of the new techniques including edible alcohol, fuel ethanol and second-generation cellulosic ethanol, and ultimately, overcome the difficulties of the industrial development, achieving food security and energy security.(Reporter Gong Changjun, Correspondent Luo Bin)
