The grand opening ceremony of the 17th China Green Food Expo was held at Changchun Agricultural Trade Fair Park in Jilin Province on September 2nd, attracting more than 2,000 enterprises from every part of the country to show the new results of the green food development. During the Expo, 12 kinds high-quality agricultural products of Yichang were demonstrated, including citrus and tea leaves, etc.

　　In the morning, Chen Xiaohua, Vice Minister of Agriculture, together with other officials, standing in front of the stand of Yichang Xing Xiang Agricultural Products Company, asked something about the cooperative, the development of Cooperative Union Association and the production, processing as well as the sales of citrus in every detail. When he learned that Yi Ling Hong and Yichang Sweet Citrus (two orange brands) both have been recognized as green food by the authorities, Chen highly praised the practice of developing green food in Yichang and building Yichang’s unique agricultural brands by the local government, and encouraged the enterprises to make good use of the existing famous brands, helping make Yichang citrus a national famous fame. Customers and traders showed strong interest to the products from Yichang and raised several questions, like “What kind of tangerine is the best?”, “The best specification of packing is 60 for one box” , “How’s the quality of Yichang black tea? ”...Xiong Changquan, Secretary of Agriculture of Yichang city, patiently explained their questions helping producers in Yichang to connect with them.

　　Green Expo is the most professional and the largest party of high-quality safe agricultural products. At Yichang exhibition stand, customers can find a series of local famous products, including Yi Ling Hong Citrus, Yichang black tea, Bailizhou Pear, Yichang white goat, black pig, Fengdao canned products, black pig, precious Kudzuvine root powder, buckwheat tea. Yu Wenchang, office director of the City Green Department, said that all of these products share a same identity “three qualities plus one geographical indication”, which means green food, organic food, pollution-free agricultural products and the agricultural products’ regional source.(Reporter Wang Lin)
