According to Yichang Customs Administration, in the past half year, the total volume of Yichang’s foreign trade exports was ? 8.78 billion, an increase of 1.4% compared with last year, taking up 7.4% of the total foreign trade volume of Hubei Province. The export volume reached ? 7.6 billion, up 0.7%. The import volume was ? 1.18 billion, up 6.4%.
The statistics also shows that the general trade added up to ? 7.72 billion, increasing by 13% compared with the previous year, and taking up 87.9% in the total volume of imports and exports in Yichang. In the meantime, the processing trade amounted to ? 990 million, dropped by 29.2%.
The foreign trade in private enterprises continued to boost. The imports and exports of those non-governmental enterprises added up to ? 5.31 billion, an increase of 31.9% on a year-on-year basis. In the meantime, the foreign trade volume of the state-owned companies decreased by 26.7%. In addition, the solely-foreign funded companies reached 510 million, up 8.8%. The foreign trade volume of the joint venture companies’ dropped by 39.8%.
ASEAN was the largest trade partner of Yichang. The total bilateral trade reached ?1.57 billion, a year-on-year increase of 16%. The trade with EU also witnessed an increase of 20.5%, reaching ?1.13 billion. Yet the deal with United States and Japan dropped by 17% and 23.7% respectively.
he main export product is diammonium hydrogen phosphate, which ranked first in the top 4 exporting goods list. It is followed by foil without paper lining, medical gauze and active yeast. Yichang exported ?1.35 billion in mechanical and electrical products, decreasing by 6% on a year-on-year basis, while hi-tech goods exports increased by 10.7%, reaching ? 480 million.
In addition, the top 4 imported items were brim stone, aluminum, foil without paper lining, upright piano and copper wires, costing ?640 million, 120 million, ?20 million and ?20 million respectively, of which brim stone export saw the greatest increase, rising by 76.4%.
